Where can I use Emend?
Emend works in supported text fields in Windows 11 desktop apps and browsers, including Chrome, Firefox and Notepad. Some editors aren't supported yet, and Emend can't write to apps running as administrator.
Do I need an account for Free?
Yes. Sign in once with your email address or Google account. Free spelling and grammar checks then work offline.
Can I keep my own writing style?
You decide which suggestions to accept. With Pro, you can choose a rewrite style, describe a change in your own words or save a custom style.
Does Emend read everything I type?
No. You start each check or rewrite. Emend never reads password fields, and stays out of password managers, terminals and code editors.
How do I get the Windows app?
Emend will be available through the Microsoft Store. The download page will take you to the Store when the listing is available.
